This activity waiver and release (this “Agreement”) dated June 1, 2024

Is between the ticket purchaser and any people for whom tickets are being purchased so that they may participate in the festival (the “Participant”)

And Ignite Festival and its organizers, facilitators, and volunteers (the “Activity Providers”).

Participants are asked to review and agree to the following points. This is a requirement in order to participate in the Ignite Festival. The Activity Provider’s intention is to create a supportive environment where Participants can grow, learn, connect with others, and have positive new experiences. It is vital that participants take responsibility for themselves, their needs, their risks, and know their own limits regarding what kinds of activities and degrees of intensity feel safe and appropriate for themselves, physically and emotionally.

1. Scheduled for July 26, 27 and 28, 2024, the Participant will partake in a variety of social and workshop activities as organized and offered by the Ignite Festival. These activities may be: physically rigorous, emotionally intense, involving touch and contact with other people including of a sensual or sexual nature, and involving topics of conversation that may be taboo or controversial. 

2. The Participant confirms that they are of age 19 or older.

3. The Participant acknowledges that they do not have any physical limitations, medical ailments, mental health conditions, physical or mental disabilities that would prevent or limit them from safely participating in the above mentioned activities. 

4. The Participant agrees to act in accordance with the Ignite Festival’s 5 Cs Community Guidelines: consent, care & self-care, confidentiality, community, and curiosity. These guidelines will be elaborated upon each morning of the festival in the Opening Ritual session. Failure to act in accordance with these guidelines may result in requesting a Participant to leave the festival without refund.

5. The Participant releases and forever discharges the Activity Providers, and anyone who may act on legal behalf of the Activity Providers, from any manner of actions, claims and demands due to any injury to person or property, which may be sustained as a consequence of the Participant's participation in the Ignite Festival, including if that damage, loss or injury may have been caused solely or partly by the negligence of the Activity Providers.

6. The Participant understands that by accepting this Agreement, the Participant agrees to be prevented from suing or otherwise claiming against the Activity Provider for any property loss or personal injury that the Participant may sustain while participating in the above noted activities.

7. This Agreement will be governed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia.

By proceeding with purchasing a festival ticket you are accepting the terms of this agreement.
